Here I stand, with the details of my past,
the not yets of my present,
and the unknowns of the future you hold.
I’m ready to be shaped and molded by my Maker,
that I might be an instrument of hope,
a vessel of truth,
a conduit of grace.
May I not be content merely to believe—
to bask in the redemption that has been
purchased for me—
without consequence or action.
But let me, instead, run the race set before me today,
with the finished work of Christ in view.
Consume me with the desire to run well.
Fuel me with the grace that ignites,
striving with all my might,
but only in all your strength, O Lord.
Persevering with joy,
because you hold me fast,
let me not grow weary in doing good.
I renounce my vain attempts at building
my own kingdom and remember, instead,
that I was made for yours.
Make me a builder, O Lord.
Make me a home for gospel hope—
no matter the duration or design.
I choose to begin today.
Help me begin today.
