You may remember that we ripped out our grass this summer in favor of a potager. I'm excited to show you all how it's growing out there! About a month ago:
The Preacher had felled several Ponderosa Pines at his parents' home in the mountains. Some of them made it back down to our backyard as stools around the firepit...
My favorite potagers always have a sculptural trellis as a focal point...
...Number 4 tends to our herbs daily...
...and all pitch in willingly to hunt for earthworms...
...And recently, the Preacher began building me a pergola entry to the potager...
With the dripper and soaker lines in, the garden has exploded.
We hope to lay gravel or pavers down in the path. I'm daydreaming about a birdbath, little lanterns, and maybe a small bistro set for a morning cup of tea in the potager...
Rainbow chard is my fair-haired child, at least until the beets are ready for harvest...I do play favorites. ;)
Gorgeous, and unbelievable delicious! I cannot wait to share the recipe for how I fixed this bounty.
I won't lie. Sending the boys out to collect dinner from the garden straight to the kitchen...is simply heaven.
