None of Them are Who They Once Were {When I Thought Things Would Never Change}

None of Them are Who They Once Were {When I Thought Things Would Never Change}

One of them used to wake up screaming six times a night for exactly two years starting at age 3...

One of them threw such a bad temper tantrum this one time that he busted his eyebrow open on a bedroom door...

One of them lied once and let another brother take the blame (not unlike this incident)...

One of them used to be a terror after nap time unless he was given a pack of fruit snacks...

One of them perfected crying crocodile tears in an instant...

One of them used to have zero self control with his tongue...

None of them are exactly who they once were when I thought things would never change....when I thought that *I* would never change. But motherhood is sanctifying because while THEY are becoming, so are YOU.

My motherhood eyes are starting to recognize that just as you can't turn a ship on a dime or build Rome in a day, you can't expect old heads on young shoulders. These are souls that are formed, trained, and brought to the mirror of the gospel day after day, one moment at a time.

(Just like me.)

So don't give up, Mama. Your hope this day isn't in easy fruit, quick fixes, or distraction from the difficult journey you face; it's in the hope-filled promise that Christ is not through with us yet
