One of the things I love most about chalk art and lettering is that it marries the artist and writer in me. Words are not just words; they are art spelled out. And a precious baby's name is not just a name. All the care, love, and thought given to naming our children gives us a glimpse of what it means that our loving Father calls us by name:
But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are mine. (Isaiah 43:1-2)
This is a little plaque I made up as a gift for a sweet friend, and her baby girl due to arrive in a few weeks...a baby cherished, known, and knit together by the One who knows her name.
