We've returned safely from a week-long trip to Williamsburg, Virginia, where we had a wonderful time experiencing our country's beginnings with my husband's parents, brothers, and family. Though they'd visited many times before, my in-laws decided to treat the entire family to this unique opportunity that we might experience it all together. Vacations are hard to come by, but one in which you can merely show up, and enjoy--well, that's a once-in-a-lifetime blessing. So, while we are now in that post-vacation stupor and denial of routine existence, pictures serve as fresh memories of the simple and thoughtful pace of colonial life.
