Summer: Responding in Faith

Summer: Responding in Faith

Summer is sweet, isn't it? Sometimes a little maddening—different routines, vacation schedules, hot days, bored kids—but awfully sweet, too—days by the pool, lots of family time, long hours of sunshine, dinner made on the grill!

In GraceLaced book, I wrote about summer as the season we respond to God in faith. After a winter season of hoping in His character and a spring season of rehearsing the truth, summer beckons us to do the things He's put before us.

The fruit of summer proves that our roots go deep—that the previous seasons have prepared us for service and obedience. In summer seasons of the soul, we're invited to...

flourish under the warmth of the Son and respond in faith.

Things we do or say or think in response to God and His Word can only flow from first resting in who He is and then remembering who we are in Him. When those roots are firmly established, our offerings to the Lord are a sweet fruit.

Here are just a few ways we're called to respond in faith to God.

Draw near with confidence.

Draw Near

Set your mind above.

Philippians 4:8
Whatever Is

Serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:15

Gracious Words

Believe it or not, we're almost to the end of summer! Before you know it, you'll be shopping for school supplies and planning for fall break. But, let's not miss what this season has to offer—both spiritually and for ourselves and our families personally. Summer seasons of the soul represent an opportunity to respond to all we know about who Christ is—let's lean in, friends.

Because of grace,
